Blender & Maya

Your layout, your camera, rendered as a finished shot

If you already block shots in 3D, you already own the hardest part of the brief: the staging and the camera. Render a clay pass, push it across in one click, and generate the finished shot from your own layout instead of describing it.

YOUR CAMERA, YOUR BLOCKING · RENDERED ON VISIONX

Why a clay pass

A prompt cannot hold a camera move

Text describes a shot; geometry specifies one. A clay pass carries the framing, the parallax and the timing exactly, so what comes back is your shot rendered, not an interpretation of your description.

Staging survives the render

Where things are, how big they read, and what the camera does are decided in the tool you already trust, then handed over as fact rather than as adjectives.

Iterate without re-blocking

The same pass can drive several looks. Change the treatment, keep the move. Re-render the layout only when the layout is what changed.

Cast holds on top of it

The reference governs movement and framing; identity still comes from your Cast, so the brand character in the shot is the same one in every other deliverable.

How it works

Scene to composer, three moves

01

Set the key once

Paste an org API key into the add-on preferences. It is scoped to read and media upload, nothing else.

02

Render and push

Pick the camera and the frame range, render the clay pass at 720p or 1080p, and upload. Retries deduplicate by checksum rather than re-charging.

03

Land in the composer

Your browser opens on the studio with the pass already attached as a video reference. Pick the engine, set the look, run the shot.

Before you render

What the bridge accepts

The plugins enforce these before uploading, so a pass that would be rejected at generation time is caught in your 3D tool instead.

Containers

MP4, MOV, WEBM or M4V, up to 500 MB.

Duration

At least 2 seconds. Up to 15 for the Seedance 2.0 family, up to 30 on Seedance 2.5.

Frame size

1080p is the safe default. DCI 4K falls outside the per-frame pixel window and fails.

Key scope

Read plus media upload. The key never needs generation or billing rights.

FAQ

The 3D bridge, answered

What do the plugins actually do?
They render a clay pass of your scene from the camera you choose, upload it to your VisionX workspace, and open the composer in your browser with that render already attached as a video reference. Your blocking and your camera move carry into the shot.
Which versions are supported?
Blender 4.2 and newer, installed as an extension from a zip. Maya installs as a shelf tool. Both ship the same stdlib-only client underneath, so neither needs a Python environment set up beyond what the host application already has.
What are the limits on the uploaded pass?
MP4, MOV, WEBM or M4V, up to 500 MB. At least 2 seconds long; up to 15 seconds for the Seedance 2.0 family and up to 30 on Seedance 2.5. The plugin blocks anything over 30 seconds and warns past 15, on the frame range you are about to render.
What resolution should I render the clay pass at?
1080p is the safe default. The per-frame pixel window tops out just above UHD, and DCI 4K falls outside it, so a larger pass buys nothing and can fail. 720p works too.
How does it authenticate, and is it safe?
With an org API key scoped to read and media write only, set once in the add-on preferences. Uploads go through presigned URLs and are deduplicated by checksum, so a retry never double-charges. Only the durable reference id travels in the URL that opens your browser.
Does this cost VX?
Uploading the clay pass does not. You are charged for the generation you run afterwards, at the same quoted-first rate as any other shot on the platform.
