What Gemini Omni Flash is on the roster

THE MODEL

Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 is Google’s multimodal video model. It renders sound with the picture on every take, at 720p, 1080p or 4K, for any whole length from three to ten seconds.

A shot can start from text, open on a frame you supply, or travel between a first and a last frame. It can also be briefed with up to ten reference images and three short reference clips at once. And it edits: hand it a finished clip and an instruction, and it changes what you asked for while the clip keeps its length and framing.

Edit a clip by instruction

Describe the change in a sentence and say what stays. The edit keeps the source clip’s length and framing, and the result can be edited again.

Ten images and three clips in one brief

Reference images for the cast, the product and the look, and up to three short clips for motion or setting, all read in the order you attach them.

Open on a frame, or land on one

Image-to-video from a first frame, or a first and last frame the shot has to travel between.

Sound in every take

Dialogue, ambience and effects render in the same pass as the picture, synchronized with it.

720p to 4K, three to ten seconds

Every mode renders 720p, 1080p and 4K, and any whole length from three to ten seconds, so the rung and the beat are yours to set.

What Gemini Omni Flash actually does

CAPABILITIES

One Google model that generates a shot from anything you hand it, and edits the ones you have.

Edit by instruction

Give it a clip of up to ten seconds and one sentence: what to change and what to keep. The edit keeps the clip’s length and framing, and its result can be edited again.

Video editing

Ten images, three clips

Brief a shot with up to ten reference images and up to three reference clips of three seconds or less, read in the order you attach them.

Multimodal reference

Start from a frame

Hand it a still and the shot opens on it: a keyframe, a Cast frame or a product plate becomes the first frame of the take.

Image to video

A first frame and a last frame

Give it both ends and it works out the move between them, so the shot lands where the board says it should.

First and last frame

Sound on every take

Dialogue, ambience and effects are generated with the picture and synchronized to it on every render. There is no silent mode, so replace the track in the edit when the cut is scored.

Native audio

720p to 4K, three to ten seconds

Every new shot renders 720p, 1080p and 4K in 16:9 or 9:16, and any whole length from three to ten seconds. An edit renders at those rungs too, and keeps the source clip’s length and frame.

How to write for Gemini Omni Flash

PROMPTING

For a new shot, describe the camera, the action and the sound. For an edit, write one instruction for the change and say what stays the same.

EDIT · 1080P · KEEPS THE SOURCE LENGTH
Make it a rainy night: wet street, neon reflections,
rain on the umbrella. Keep the two people, their
performance, the framing and the timing the same.

Edit in small steps

One change per instruction reads more reliably than a list. Chain edits: each result can be the next source.

Say what each reference brings

Name each reference by what is in it and what to take from it: “the red jacket on the woman”, “the camera rhythm of the street clip”.

Keep reference clips short

A reference clip can be three seconds at most. To change a longer clip, run it as an edit instead.

Script the sound

Audio is always generated, so give dialogue as short quoted lines and name the ambience you want rather than leaving it to chance.

USE CASES

The board lines that go to Gemini Omni Flash first.

Fixing a take instead of re-rolling it

Change the weather, the wardrobe or the time of day on a clip you already approved, and keep the performance.

A brief with many references

Cast, product, set and a motion clip in one shot, each described in the prompt by what it brings.

Bridging two approved stills

A first and a last frame from signed-off key art, with the move generated between them.

Iterating a look in rounds

Edit, review, edit again: each result becomes the next source clip.

FAQ

Gemini Omni Flash, answered

How does Gemini Omni Flash video editing work?
Attach the clip and describe the change. The edit keeps the clip’s length and framing, and it is quoted on that length before you run it. Clips up to ten seconds can be edited.
What references does Gemini Omni Flash take?
Up to ten reference images and up to three reference clips of three seconds or less in one shot. A first frame, or a first and last frame, can anchor the shot instead; frames and references are separate modes.
What resolutions and lengths does it render?
720p, 1080p or 4K, in 16:9 or 9:16, for any whole number of seconds from three to ten. An edit takes the length of its source clip.
Can I switch Gemini Omni Flash’s audio off?
No. Sound renders with every take, so the composer shows audio as always on for it. Replace the track in the edit when the cut is scored.
